JOOAN 1080P Wifi IP Camera Outdoor CCTV Surveillance Camera

I purchased two pieces of this but it’s not exactly what advertised in product description and shown in photos.

I spent all day in testing the cameras at two different positions. It doesn’t detect the motion or sounds if it’s added to the top of your door as shown in their product photos.

It only works when camera are front of you and you are face to face with it but generally not as advertised. I tried playing with the smart detection feature but it’s not working. It does record sounds as well but doesn’t detect it anymore.

The package was well packed, delivered in 13 days in Pakistan, and have everything what it needed.

a little camera with an awkward combination of hardware. it uses interesting capable motherboard suited for much more than the camera has to offer. it has a modern soc (processor) ingenic t23, but the choice of image sensor is weird at best. sc1a4t is a 1 megapixel sensor with 1280x720 native resolution (no, not 1080p, sorry). 720p is a very low resolution for 2024. the camera has two combo led: 850nm infrared and white light (very bright), decent quality speaker. i found two indicating red and green led on the front board but these were not wired inside the camera. adding extra wires made them lit. this model is well supported by thingino open firmware.

The delivery is fast, the connection is limited to the WIFA 2.4, and the camera is shot in one direction and the camera is rotating this can't be done. The camera picture quality is very clear and good at night. It is a good item for the price.

For the price you are paying, this camera is OK. It is easy to connect to the cam720 app. However, the frame rate is terrible. When you watch live stream, it's like a slow-motion movie. Saved video files only opened from cloud storage, didn't work from sd card for some reason. WiFi connection is poor, I placed this camera in my shed outside my house and it won't connect to my router from 5m distance.
I have Tapo C320WS camera as my main camera and I can tell the difference between cheap product and good.
Overall, this camera is not too bad as a toy camera, but if you need some good quality video surveillance camera, choose something better.
