Nice looking sata to usb adapter. it allowed me to turn an old 750gb sata hard drive into a long term storage drive. not the cheapest of these available, but it's definitely easier to open, and has a nice clear case to show off the drive.

I ordered the "white-3.1" variant with usb type c cable, but received the "black-3.0" with bad usb micro b cable. The bad cable doesn't work stable on usb3 (5gbs) and in better case it reconnects constantly without any load. The cable even badly works on usb2, doesn't achieve 40mb/s at reading, only 20 mb/s.
That which such enclosure well works with the type c cable i know well from previously ordered one for nvme and which could be replaced by me for test this order.

Shit! I do not recommend! At first glance, everything seems to be working. But after a couple of minutes of inactivity, the pocket "falls asleep." The entire disk system is "stuck," the computer is slowing down relentlessly. It can be fixed by unplugging it from the USB port. Usage scenario: connected, recorded/copied, disconnected. Leaves it to complete the task on its own, pauses the movie (while you're sorting things out) - "hangs" the entire system or the TV. Tested on several disks - the disks are not the issue. The firmware of the microchip is at fault. By the way, here is the Initio INIC3939PN - a pathetic Chinese counterfeit of a similar chip from Realtek, with the same "disk hibernation" problems. In general, using this balalaika is unrealistic; I threw it in the trash and ordered from another seller (I recommend looking at options from congdi, their boxes are problem-free). A dispute has been opened, they do not want to refund the money, and they respond in a language different from the one requested. Scammers in a nutshell!
P.S. The box opens by sliding the top part backward, rather than prying or digging.
