I learned about this product through a review video and decided to purchase it. I think it can be used on a computer as well, but by connecting a cable to an iPhone or iPad, it can be used directly. Data transfer works without any issues; it's a very good product. I thought it would take a long time since it's shipped from overseas, but it arrived sooner than expected. However, as others have mentioned, there are no product manuals or instructions, so I think it would be better to create a simple manual for people who don't know what to do.
It works perfectly, I have been able to copy the ROMs and they work well with RetroArch. I am having problems with the saves (.fla) but that's an issue with the emulator. The cartridge reader is great. It would be nice if it had a little box or case!
This dumper doesn't read eeprom saves by default, but i made a fix. you need to turn the cartridge reader upside down and have it so the cartridge port is on the top and the pi pico clone at the bottom. you then need to wire and connect the 5th pin counting from the bottom left of the cartridge port (aka pin 21 when seen from right side up eeprom_dat) to the pin with the number 16 on the pi pico clone board, and the 7th pin counting from the bottom left (aka pin 19 when seen from right side up cic_11) to the pin with the number 17 on the pi pico clone board. the eeprom saves will then show up when using the dreamdumper 64 software. what pin number 16 and 17 is on the pi pico clone might differ from clone to clone, but on mine they were marked with the number 16 and 17 on the top so it was easy.
I wish i could give this 6 stars! note that this is not just a simple serial device... but an actual raspberry pi pico (see photo), welded to a pcb, shipped with "mass storage" (ie. dreamdump64) firmware! this means no learning curve; attach it to your cartridge in, plug it into your pc, and bam... the rom files just show up, as if on a usb flash drive. copy them to your favourite emulation device and enjoy legally!
