The device is very loud. i use it on the lowest setting. i have $3500 hearing aids that i wear regularly, but i don't like to wear them for sports. i got this for my sports workouts. no whistling. device is very large - 4x the size of my expensive hearing aids. definitely not a 'real' hearing aid, but for the price it is good enough. if i crash on my mountain bike and destroy it, i am only out $10, not $1700.
This is the second time I've bought it. It's a good product for the price. I recommend it to the semi-deaf like me. Haha.
It's not very powerful. It doesn't amplify much, but it does the job.
