The iPhone 17 Pro is still a few months away from launch; however, leaks around the phone continue to emerge. From previous leaks, we know that the phone might feature a redesigned camera module, a bigger battery, and a vapour chamber cooling system. Now, a fresh leak suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro will do away with the titanium frame and switch to an aluminium frame. Notably, the high-end iPhones have featured either stainless steel or titanium frames since the launch of the iPhone X in 2017.
The information comes from the Weibo account Instant Digital, who believes that the iPhone 17 Pro will feature an aluminium frame. The tipster added that the back of the phone will have a glass section for MagSafe and Qi wireless charging support. The Information had previously reported about a part-aluminium, part-glass design for the iPhone 17 Pro. Now, there’s another leak to back it up, so this might turn out to be true.

It’s worth noting that Apple has continued to use aluminium frames for its lower-end phones, such as the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. However, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max feature titanium frames. So, the move back to aluminium will be a significant change if this turns out to be true.
The tipster didn’t mention why Apple is planning to move back to an aluminium frame on the upcoming model. Hopefully, future leaks will shed more light on this particular change.
