Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 debuts with Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and 5165mAh battery

Xiaomi has launched its latest clamshell foldable, the Mix Flip 2. As per the rumours, this will be the only foldable from the brand this year. While the phone looks exactly like its predecessor, there are some notable upgrades. For instance, the Mix Flip 2 features a bigger battery, an upgraded chipset, and an improved hinge mechanism. The phone also gets a vapour chamber system to keep it cool during intensive tasks such as gaming and video recording.

The Mix Flip 2 is offered in four colour options—Lattice Gold, Shell White, Nebula Purple, and Plum Green. The device is 7.57mm thick when open and 15.87mm thick in the closed state. Xiaomi has deployed a three-link, four-plate structure hinge, which ensures flat closing and as minimal crease as possible.

As far as the specifications are concerned, the device sports a 4.01-inch cover display and a 6.86-inch inner panel. Both these are AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

The Mix Flip 2 features Leica-powered outward-facing cameras, including a 50MP Light Hunter 800 sensor with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 14mm focal length. The inner display sports a 32-megapixel camera for selfies.

The Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 is powered by a 5,165mAh battery, a significant upgrade over the 4,870mAh battery on the original Mix Flip. The device gets support for 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Moreover, the device gets a dual vapour chamber cooling system and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
