Huawei is in a different league altogether when it comes to smartphone innovation. The company recently announced the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra with a 1-inch sensor and a switchable dual telephoto lens. Now, a fresh leak suggests that the tech giant is working to bring its second tri-fold phone soon. Notably, the Huawei Mate XT is the only triple-folding phone that you can buy right now. While Samsung is working on a tri-fold device, we still await Apple’s first folding phone. This is a clear indicator that Huawei is spearheading innovation in the smartphone space.
The latest leak comes from tipster Smart Pikachu, who hinted at the Huawei Mate XT 2’s launch timeline. According to him, the tri-fold is coming in September this year. The post mentioned that Huawei is testing a low-orbit satellite internet system for this device. This tech allows phones to connect to low-orbit satellites for internet connectivity, making it pretty useful for remote locations.

The tipster mentioned that the Huawei Mate XT 2 will feature an upgraded chipset and bring improved imaging capabilities. As per rumours, the device could be powered by the Kirin 9020 processor.

To recall, the original Huawei Mate XT holds 7.9-inch, 6.4-inch, and 10.2-inch displays, respectively. In the camera department, the device features a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP periscope lens, and another 12MP ultrawide sensor. At the front, the device has an 8MP camera for selfies. Moreover, the device is powered by a 5,600mAh battery with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
