Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch its next flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 16 series. The lineup will take over the Xiaomi 15 series, launched earlier this year. It may include four models: Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, and Xiaomi 16 Ultra. While we are too far away from the launch event, leaks around the devices continue to appear. A fresh leak has now revealed camera and battery details of the upcoming smartphones.
The leak comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who believes that the Xiaomi 16 series may feature 50-megapixel front-facing cameras. However, the tipster didn’t reveal if this will be true for all the phones in the lineup.
The Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini is said to be equipped with a large primary rear camera sensor and paired with a periscope lens. Further, it is expected to get wireless charging support. The tipster added that the engineering prototype Pro Mini variant has a smaller battery than the base Xiaomi 16.
The standard Xiaomi 16 is expected to be a balanced offering with a large battery, a flagship-level chipset, and a medium-sized display. The phone may feature a 6500mAh battery with 50MP triple rear cameras.
The Xiaomi 16 series could be powered by the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. The Pro Mini and Pro variants could sport 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch displays, respectively, while the base model may get a 6.5-inch screen.
A previous leak had hinted that the Pro and Pro Mini variants will feature periscope telephoto shooters at the back. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line Xiaomi 16 Ultra is expected to include a 1-inch 50-megapixel SC5A0CS SmartSens camera.
