Google is offering $100 cash or $150 store credit to Pixel 6a owners under Battery Performance Programme

Google’s budget Pixel A series of phones has been under the radar for overheating issues. Most recently, this issue has crept up on Pixel 6a devices. To address this problem, Google recently announced the Battery Performance Programme for the Pixel 6a. As part of this programme, the company will roll out a mandatory update for the 6a phones starting July 8. This update is expected to reduce the potential risk of battery overheating on these devices. Google had earlier confirmed that users will get free repairs for their affected Pixel 6a. Now, we have an idea of what users will get if they trade in their Pixel 6a for a new device.

Google is offering free battery replacement for Pixel 6a units plagued with the overheating issue. Those not willing to get their device repaired can opt in for device trade-ins. If users want to avail of this option, they will be eligible for cash compensation or store credit.

Google will offer Pixel 6a owners $100 if they want a cash payment. That said, if they choose store credit, they will get a better $150 offer.

Google has put up a dedicated page for Pixel 6a owners to check the eligibility of their phones. They are required to enter their email ID and the IMEI number. Entering the registered email is a more convenient option, but you can use an alternative ID.
