Xiaomi has stepped into the smart glasses space with its first offering, Xiaomi AI Glasses. The new wearable was announced at an event in China on Thursday. At first glance, the AI glasses look quite similar to the Meta Ray-Bans. The device is powered by the Snapdragon AR1+ chipset and runs Xiaomi’s Vela OS. It is equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera, which allows for first-person video recording, photo capture, and live broadcast.
The Xiaomi AI Glasses are offered in three colours—Black, Brown, and Green. The smart glasses are fairly lightweight, weighing just 40 grams. For comparison, the Meta Ray-Bans weigh around 48 grams. The glasses feature a D shape with a TR90 nylon frame and titanium hinges. Xiaomi claims that the hinges have been tested for over 18,000 usage cycles, meaning they can withstand repeated use.

The AI glasses from Xiaomi feature a 12-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX681 sensor. They can capture pictures at a resolution of 4,032×3,024 pixels and videos up to 2K at 30 FPS. The glasses sport five microphones with bone-conduction support and wind-noise reduction. There are also dual speakers for media playback.
The Xiaomi AI Glasses are powered by the Snapdragon AR1+ chip, which is specifically designed to cater to AR smart glasses. The chipset is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

The smart glasses can be controlled entirely with just your voice. Moreover, they also have touch controls. The Xiaomi AI Glasses can recognize the objects that they see, translate over 10 languages in real time, and figure out the calories in your food.
